Jose Lora, PhD

Dr. José M. Lora is a biopharma executive and scientist with over 20 years of leadership experience advancing innovative therapies from discovery to early clinical development. He has held senior R&D roles, including Chief Scientific Officer at HC Bioscience, Intergalactic Therapeutics, and enGene, leading programs across therapeutic modalities in immunology, ophthalmology, oncology, and rare genetic diseases. In addition to his biotech leadership, Dr. Lora held key positions at global pharmaceutical companies including GlaxoSmithKline and Roche. He has built and led high-performing multidisciplinary teams, forged strategic partnerships with academia and industry, and guided regulatory and CMC strategies. Dr. Lora has authored numerous high-impact publications and is co-inventor in several patents and patent applications. He holds a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Seville/CSIC, Spain and completed postdoctoral training at Brown University and The University of Utah.
